THE cenotaphs in Church and Oswaldtwistle will be given a ‘spruce-up’ in time for Remembrance Day.
Chairman of Oswaldtwistle Area Council, and president of Church and Oswaldtwistle Royal British Legion branch, Peter Britcliffe, has arranged for the memorials to be cleaned, and tidied, ahead of Monday - the 11th day of the 11th month.
Coun Britcliffe said: “It is very important at a time when we remember our heroes that the cenotaphs are spruced up and tidy. “They are an important part of the remembrance act, and help to portray our feeling for those who have given their lives on our behalf.”
