THREE drug dealers are being named and shamed on billboards after they were jailed for almost 10 years.

Images of Rockab Afzal, Ishfaq Hussain and Shahid Ansar have been blown up to 20ft high and plastered across Pendle by Lancashire Police.

Part of the force’s Behind Bars campaign involves hand-bills and bus shelter adverts, but only significant investigations are given the full billboard treatment.

Between them the men were said to be behind a supply network stretching across Nelson, Burnley, Brierfield and Accrington.

The three dealers were said to be the main supply route for street dealers across the three boroughs from 2011 to 2013.

Afzal, 29, of Beaufort Street, Nelson, was jailed for two years and nine months for conspiracy to supply heroin from December 2011 to April 2013.

Hussain, 25, of Chapelhouse Road, Nelson, is behind bars for four years after admitting a similar charge and possession of a stun gun.

And Ansar, also 25, of St Paul’s Road, Nelson, was imprisoned for three years for the same offence.

A Lancashire Police spokesman said: “With the public’s help we can continue to target and bring to justice those people who are blighting our neighbourhoods.”
