NORTH West Ambulance Service is preparing to carry out a major survey to ask patients what they think about the care they receive.

Bosses said the results will help identify any areas for improvement.

The survey will focus on callers who have been treated or given advice over the telephone, rather than those who have been visited by paramedics.

Questions will cover the quality of care received, communication with ambulance service staff, information and advice given and the overall experience of the service.

The survey, which is being conducted by every ambulance trust, will take place early next year and the results published by the Care Quality Commission.

Sarah Faulkner, director of performance and patient experience, said: “We hope that people will take the time to help us and the Care Quality Commission with this survey, helping us to find out how we are performing and how we can improve.”
