A RAMSBOTTOM school received a visit from inspectors and was rated as ‘good’ just days after a new headteacher started in his post.
An Ofsted team visited Woodhey High School in September and found the school deserved the same rating as the previous inspection in November 2008.
New headteacher Brian Roadnight took over from Martin Braidley, who had been in the role for 14 years and retired in July.
The Ofsted report praises the behaviour and academic achievements of the pupils, and recognises the standard of teaching as good and senior management was praised.
Inspectors said the school was not yet ‘outstanding’ because of gaps in achievement between children eligible for financial support, and between girls and boys, with some boys under-achieving.
