A financial expert from Burnley has been voted as one of the best in the country.

Christina Clegg, a former St Hilda’s RC Girls School pupil, was named in the top 200 Rated Independent Financial Advisers (IFAs) in the UK by her clients.

She qualified as a financial advisor in 1994.

After starting under a youth training scheme, working for HFC bank, she then moved on to National Provincial Building Society, the former Burnley Building Society.

She then worked for Halifax and Santander in Burnley. For the past five years she has been self-employed visiting clients’ homes.

Christina, who is based at Go IFA Ltd in Burnley, said: “There are over 20,000 independent financial advisers in the UK so I’m thrilled to be in the VouchedFor.co.uk Top 200.

“What makes it even more special is that I’ve been selected thanks to my clients. It means a lot that they’ve gone out of their way to support me and I’d like to thank them all.

“I’m passionate about independent financial advice. While talking about how to look after your money isn’t ‘sexy’ with a growing pension and savings gap planning your financial future is more important than ever. In a nutshell that’s what financial advice is all about – making sure you make the most out of your hard earned cash and aren’t left short of funds in retirement or on a rainy day.”

Christina was selected as a result of local clients reviewing and rating her services on consumer ratings website Vouched For.co.uk. The site, which enables people looking for financial advice to find a recommended IFA, works like TripAdvisor.

Advisers are then listed based on client reviews giving those seeking advice confidence that the adviser can be trusted.
