PENDLE MP Andrew Stephenson has welcomed changes to the way the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) drivers find a residential park in his constituency, after raising resident concerns with them.
The Pendle MP had been contacted by a couple living in Dales View Park, a residential park near Salterforth.
They were worried after an ambulance had missed the park’s turning when responding to a call, delaying treatment for a neighbour who had suffered a fall. They blamed sat navs for sending drivers the wrong way.
After contacting the NWAS on their behalf, Mr Stephenson was told by NWAS chairman Mary Whyham about the practical steps that would be taken to fix the problem, including working with their sat nav provider.
Mr Stephenson said: “The ambulance service is always looking to improve the way in which they respond to calls because, in emergency situations, minutes do matter.
“I was pleased with the way the concerns of Dales View Park residents have been heard and answered. It is reassuring to know that steps will be taken to improve the service they receive.”
