The driver of a vehicle who left the scene of a road accident without leaving their details is being urged to come forward.
The collision, which left a motorcyclist in a serious condition at Royal Blackburn Hospital, happened around noon on Eden Street, Blackburn, on Wednesday.
The 46-year-old motorcyclist from Leyland had a head-on collision with a taxi when he was travelling around a bend on his black Piaggo moped.
He was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital with a punctured lung.
PC John Wharton said: "I appeal to the driver of the third vehicle to come forward as he or she may have some vital information to assist with our investigation.
"This person may not have realised a collision occurred at all, or may not have thought to stop, but it is vital we get their account of what happened."
Anyone with information can contact police on 0845 1 25 35 45 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
