THE historic wrought-iron gateway to an Accrington park has been restored, capping a major £50,000 clean-up.
Land surrounding Arden Hall, which was demolished half-a-century ago, had fallen into disrepair.
Coun Graham Jones, one of the driving forces behind the Friends of Arden Hall group, said the improvements were "great news" for everyone in the area.
More than £38,000 has already been spent to improve the open space with work on ponds, footpaths, plantlife and restore the near-derelict allotments.
Now a further £12,000 has been secured to restore the gateway to the park, off Plantation Street.
