A FOOTPATH in Nelson is to be upgraded if councillors agree to funding the £5,830 project.
Work on the Hallam Road to Waterford Street path would begin in November and be completed next March.
Tom Partridge, Pendle countryside access officer, said: “The footpath is a convenient short-cut for pedestrians.
“The path is very narrow in places – only wide enough for single-file use.
“The project proposal is to upgrade the footpath by laying a tarmac footpath The proposed upgrade will improve the walking surface.
“It will also generally improve the appearance of the footpath which runs in a gloomy corridor between old mill buildings (Oak Bank Mill and Hendon Mill).”
