PLANS to keep a portable cabin on the site of Nelson Football Club’s ground, in Victoria Park, are to be discussed by councillors on Monday.
Planning officers at Pendle Council have recommended the scheme for approval but councillors on the Nelson Area Committee will make the final decision.
Four objections have been received to the application, with residents complaining that the cabin dominates the view and affects amenity.
Planning officer Keith Thompson said in a report: “Whilst portable cabins do not offer any significant design attributes, they do serve a temporary functional need.
“The site is used for playing football and it is not uncommon for such structures to be in situ in these locations.
“The development would appear in keeping with other buildings and structures on the site and its recreational use.”
