RESIDENTS in Sabden, Read and Simonstone are being asked to give up a corner of their garden for mini-allotments.

A community group who run the ‘garden share’ project in the villages as well as Clitheroe, is appealing for people to open up their unused gardens to those who want to grow vegetables or plants.

Transition Town Clitheroe said the project was aimed at people on the waiting list for allotments.

Residents who donate land will receive 25 per cent of any produce grown.

The project puts owners of underused garden s who would like to share their space in touch with local growers who need a garden.
