CALDERSTONES Hospital in Whalley will hold a county parade and service of remembrance on Saturday.
The parade and service is the only event in the county to be officially organised by the Royal British Legion (RBL) after hospital administrators approached the local RBL branch over 40 years ago to organise a fitting tribute to servicemen who died from their war wounds following admission to Calderstones.
Each year since, the Lancashire RBL County organises the parade and service of remembrance with the help and support of the Trust.
Everyone is invited to assemble at St Luke’s Chapel, within the grounds of Calderstones at 9.45am. A parade will begin at 10.20am followed by a church service in the chapel and concluding with a wreath laying ceremony at the war cemetery.
