A GROUP of friends who met online have raised more than £2,000 for Pendleside Hospice.
Members of the Burnley Past and Present Facebook group celebrated its second birthday at Burnley Miners’ Club, in Plumbe Street.
A £2,050 cheque, collected during the year, was presented to hospice fundraiser Vikki Haydock.
Organiser Sarah Makinson said: “The group has helped connect Burnley people from around the world, and locally.
“The hospice is close to my heart as it helped my late mother, Rita Nadin, and many in the group have been touched by Pendleside.”
