BOSSES at Whalley Community Hydro are to hold a public meeting to provide residents with more information about the up-coming sale of shares in the project.

Around £750,000 needs to be raised before building work can start in April next year and the directors are hoping the share sale in early November will raise the vast majority of that total.

The power house, which will generate electricity from the River Calder, will use the movement of the river’s water to create electricity.

The power will then be fed into the National Grid and generate money for other local renewable energy projects.

The meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 22, at Clitheroe Library in Church Street from 7.30pm to 8.30pm.

The share issue will be open from November 6 to November 27.
