A WISH-LIST has been drawn up for improvements to Colne’s Waterside district using some new government funding.
Under the Empty Homes scheme, the ward has been given £82,571 for ‘public realm improvements’.
Area councillor Tony Greaves said the priority initiatives had been drawn up after a meeting of the Waterside Neighbourhood Action Group.
New ‘build-outs’ in William Street and Clayton Street have been suggested, alongside boundary wall upgrades for Walton Street, Exchange Street, Hall Street, Duke Street, Seldon Street and Chapel Street. A £5,000 ‘grot spots’ fund has also been recommended.
Coun Greaves said: “This is the best use of the money, assuming the Walton Street project goes ahead, and I am hoping it will.”
