TWO of Lancashire’s remaining Blockbuster stores could close after the chain yesterday entered administration for the second time this year.
Clitheroe’s store in Wellgate and Chorley’s store in George Street could close following the decision by owners Gordon Brothers Europe.
Earlier this year, the Blockbuster stores in Blackburn, Accrington, Padiham and Rawtenstall were closed.
Gordon Brothers said its turnaround attempts for the historically loss-making company coincided with a patch of poor trading across rental and retail sales.
It said stores will continue trading but some may need to close if a buyer cannot be found.
