MEET Salacious - an alternative pop/rock band from Blackburn and Accrington described as "a mix between Siouxsie And The Banshees and Red Hot Chilli Peppers".
The band is made up of Laura Ward, 20, vocalist; Tao Liu, 21, guitarist; Kev Hession, 27, bassist; and Alex Birtwell, 20, drummer.
They've recently released their debut EP Experiment and are now on a mission to recruit a fan base.
Together since March 2005 the band are steadily making a name for themselves across the North Wes, gigging in venues throughout Manchester, Leeds, Wakefield, Blackburn and Accrington.
Their greatest successes to date have been supporting signed band The Holloways at Blackburn nightclub Liquid & Envy, playing the Night and Day Cafe in Manchester and gigging at the Snooty Fox in Wakefield.
"We play indie music but kind-of funked up," said drummer Alex Birtwell.
"Between us we have a broad range of tastes but I'd say out main influences probably are Siouxsie And The Banshees and Red Hot Chilli Peppers, although Laura quite likes poppy styles too."
Alex, Tao and Laura have been in a two other bands together, but Salacious was formed last spring when they decided to go it alone.
They needed a bassist to complete the line-up and up stepped Kev.
"We're trying to get out to Manchester, Leeds and London to make a name for ourselves," said Alex.
But forget ideas about sex, drugs and rock'n'roll - the guys are pretty "boring" on the road admitted Alex.
"It's all pretty tame," he said. "The most exciting thing that's happened is probably at a gig in Manchester where this old guy got excited and started doing cartwheels in front of the stage.
"That's pretty off-putting!"
