PENDLE MP Andrew Stephenson has welcomed Lottery funding which came into the borough this summer.
Between July and September, a total of £555,522 was awarded to local groups from the Big Lottery Fund. That included more than £300,000 to Pendle Leisure Trust for a project which aims to help re-integrate isolated and inactive people, with mild or moderate mental health issues. Mr Stephenson said: “To have this kind of continued investment in 2013 is fantastic news for Pendle’s local charities and voluntary groups.
“There are grants currently available for voluntary groups, charities and social enterprises and I would like to urge all projects and groups around Pendle to get an application in.
“This will provide a great boost to the charity and voluntary sector in Pendle.”
