A TAKEAWAY owner has pledged to donate five per cent of all restaurant earnings and donations from staff to kidney care and breast cancer charities.
Farhad Ahman, owner of Spice Tandoori, Darwen, said: “We did this back in 2011. Business doesn’t increase when we do it but we just do it to help the local community and raise awareness of the charities and illnesses.
“We are unsure of how much we will raise but we will know by November.”
Staff members handed out flyers in Darwen town centre to promote their pledge and chosen causes.
The mayor will be presented with the cheque in the takeaway on November 5.
