A RECOVERY ward at Clitheroe Hospital has been nationally recognised for providing top care for elderly patients.
The Ribble Ward, which has 14 beds, was recently given the Quality Mark for Elder-Friendly Hospital Wards Stage 1 by the Royal College of Psychiatry.
The marker means there has been a continuous commitment by staff to identify and carry out improvements.
Debbie Hargreaves, ward manager, said: “As a ward team we are delighted to receive this marker as it demonstrates the ward’s commitment to improving the quality of care for older people.
“It was achieved through a multi-disciplinary approach and acknowledges the hard work of every member of staff involved and shows the wards commitment to providing the highest standard of care to every patient.”
The quality mark was also recently received by Ward B8 at the Royal Blackburn Hospital.
