COUNCILLORS have been receiving complaints about the building work at historic former cotton mill, Hampden Mill, Grimshaw Street.
Residents fear the roof has been left in a potentially dangerous state.
David Foster, councillor for Whitehall ward, said: “The eves of the roof are over hanging and there are concerns that people could walk into them and be hurt.
"The council has now been told about these concerns and have said that they will visit the site and investigate as soon as possible.”
