TRAINEE volunteers for Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue Team (RPMRT) joined 32 others from across the country for a course in rescue techniques.
Ten volunteers from RPMRT learned stretcher handling techniques, steep ground evacuation and rope rescue at Bibby’s Farm in Chorley, during the annual Mountain Rescue Foundation Course.
They also had lectures and displays by police and fire services, North West Ambulance Service, and Air Ambulance teams.
Team leader Pete Goble said: “Our trainees have been with us for about six months now and it was great to see them putting what they’ve learned in that time to practical use.
“The whole weekend was not just informative but allowed the trainees to learn about ‘hands on’ mountain rescue.”
