BOSSES at The Mall in Blackburn were delighted by the number of bags of unwanted items donated as part of a major fundraising drive.
The British Heart Foundation shop collected nearly 500 bags of secondhand items in September, as part of the charity’s Great British Bag-athon.
Lorraine Jones, centre manager at The Mall, said: “Profits will go straight into the fight against heart disease by funding vital, life-saving research.”
“There are 2.3 million people living with coronary heart disease in the UK, so the charity’s fight against heart disease is an ongoing battle. If you weren’t able to fill bags for the event at the shopping centre, you can still join in by giving bags of items to your local BHF shop.”
The shop is still looking for donations of clothes, shoes toys, books, CDs, DVDs and homewares.
