WORK is set to begin to install new equipment at a Rossendale park next week.
The Friends of Snig Hole Park and Rossendale Council have appointed contractors to carry out drainage improvements and create a new play area at Snig Hole Park in Helmshore.
The Friends Group has been working with the council and Haslingden community interest company Proffitt’s for the past 18 months to come up with a design and raise funds to implement the changes.
The work will start on October 28 and is expected to last between 10 to 12 weeks.
Yvonne Cox, chair of the Friends group, said: “We are extremely pleased to have reached the point where things are starting to happen on the ground.”
