BLACKBURN’S Oasis is a regular haunt of mine - but read on. This is not a re-hash of an old review, nor a blatant case of lazy eating.
The other night while stuck on a late shift I really fancied some tea.
Oddly for me I didn’t really fancy a kebab - it was far too early for that - and I had missed bagging a bargain (or a salad) from the supermarket next to Telegraph Towers as the clock had ticked beyond 8pm.
“No worries,” I thought. “I’ll have a burger from the fast food chain in the town centre.”
So I headed into town and walked towards the diner that sounds as though it belongs to a Scotsman or a farmer...only to find that it had closed. It was 8.15pm.
So I thought I would head to Oasis - but was determined to try something different.
I went in and scanned the menu and went for a chilli cheese burger and chips. I’ve not had that before and after a 10 minute wait I headed back to my desk to get stuck in.
The burger was really nice and the chilli added an extra kick that was also well received by me.
For a price of less than £4 with a bottle of water thrown in I was more than happy - and didn’t even need a kebab later on.
