THE second of two “dementia friends” training sessions in the Ribble Valley has been organised.
The free event at the Council Chamber in Clitheroe is on October 29 from 4.30pm to 6.00pm and is part of a campaign to establish the area as one of the UK's first dementia friendly boroughs.
Ribble Valley Council has joined forces with the Alzheimer's Society and businesses, community groups, public and private sector organisations to create a centre of excellence in dementia awareness.
The council is working to develop a network of ‘dementia friends’ who come into contact with people with the condition.
Council partnership officer David Ingham said: "People with dementia face barriers.”
