FINAL preparations are being made for the spectacular bonfire and firework display at Towneley Park next month.
With just under two weeks to go until the event on Bonfire Night, Tuesday, November 5, tickets are selling fast.
The bonfire and fireworks display is being held on Higher Towneley playing fields and admission to the event, including the fun fair, is by ticket only.
There will be no ticket sales at the entrance to the bonfire, so all tickets must be purchased in advance.
Organisers say visitors can be assured of an action-packed night, with not one but two fireworks displays.
The first, at 7.30pm, is the junior display, and the second, the grand finale, is scheduled to take place at 8.30pm.
The event and funfair will open at 6.30pm and there will be local talent playing on the live stage throughout the night.
The bonfire will be lit at 7.15pm.
Coun John Harbour, executive member for leisure, said: “The bonfire and fireworks display will be a great family event and is being carefully organised.
“To ensure that everyone enjoys themselves the number of tickets is strictly limited.
“It is important that people realise they must purchase tickets in advance, because we are unable to sell any tickets at the entrance on the night.”
