A GHOST and bat search, a creepy apple head carving session, a Hallowe'en party and mask making are just some of the spooky events that are set to be held at Clitheroe Castle this half term.

The list of activities, which will take place from Saturday, October 26 to Sunday, November 3, also include a fancy dress competition, storytelling and a chance to learn about spells.

Youngsters can try their hand at carving apples into shrunken heads on Monday, October 28 from 11am to 3.30pm and kids can make their own Halloween mark on Wednesday, October 30, from the same time.

Spooky storyteller The Mad Monk will be at the castle the next day to pass on scary stories to all ages with the Hallowe'en party being held the same day from 5pm to 6.30pm.

Kids can join the ghost and bat hunt, bob for apples and also decorate a mini trick or treat bag.

Witch Demdike will be holding a spell lesson on Saturday, November 2, at 11am, noon, 1.30pm and 2.30pm where budding witches and wizards can mix their own spells.
