PENDLESIDE hospice's biggest fundraising campaign of the year culminates this weekend with the Light Up A Life switch-on services.

More than 1,000 people are expected at the Reedley hospice over the two days to remember the life of a loved one by dedicating a Christmas light in their memory.

The service includes a special address by the Hospice Chaplain, Father John Price and seasonal hymns with musical accompaniment from the Burnley Alliance Silver Band on Saturday and the Salvation Army Band on Sunday, as well as specially chosen readings by Hospice staff.

The Mayor of Burnley, Mohammad Najib, will switch on the lights on Saturday, and Mayor of Pendle Councillor George Adam will do the honours on Sunday.

Mince pies and drinks will be available, and the service will begin at 3.30pm on both days.
