Thieves targeted two primary schools in Burnley on the same night.
Shortly after 9pm on Thursday, Ighten Hill Primary in Alder Street was broken into, but the offenders fled empty-handed when the alarm sounded.
Betwen 5.30pm on Thursday and 5.30am on Friday, nearby Whittlefield Primary in Tabor Street was also broken into.
The thieves again left without taking anything.
