SHOPPERS at the new Tesco Rawtenstall store had a "lovely jubbly" time raising money for Rossendale Hospice.

The store invited David Byrne, an impersonator who looks like Only Fools and Horses' favourite Del Boy Trotter and also belts out Elvis Presley songs, to help raise money for the hospice.

David arrived at the Bury Road store at 11am on Saturday and spent four hours entertaining shoppers in return for donations.

The store donated £300 to kick start the fund-raising, continuing the company's pledge to support the community.

Store manager James Richmond presented a £1,000 cheque to Rossendale First Responders to mark the opening of the outlet two weeks ago.
