A BUSINESSMAN has pledged to "smarten up" Blackburn's night-time economy after investing £50,000 in the refurbishment of a bar.

Adrian Garner has just bought Euros, Salford, to add to the White Bull, Church Street, and Bar Ibiza, Bolton Road, which he also runs.

And after completing the refurbishment he has vowed that the future now looks brighter for nightlife in the town.

The venue, which was also formerly known as Pitchers, has now returned to its original name, the Little Bull.

Mr Garner said: "I want to make the Church Street area a vibrant place.

"It is time to take nightlife in the town in a different direction.

"It has become a bit of a challenge I have set myself to get the area busy again."

The refurbishment at the Little Bull has seen new lighting introduced and a redecoration take place.

A new members' bar will be opened called Rothchild's and themed nights have been introduced - Friday is dance night and Saturday is soul night.
