CHURCH leaders in the North West are set to stage a ‘God Loves the NHS’ conference, to support Christians working in the health service.
Kevin Vaughan, the General Secretary of the International Christian Medical and Dental Association, will be the keynote speaker at the event, at the Clinical Sciences Centre, Aintree University Hospital, Liverpool, on September 28.
It will also offer people the opportunity to attend workshops, to worship, receive prayer, and network with other Christians in the NHS. John Hawley, archdeacon of Blackburn, said: “In an increasingly secular society, this is a welcome conference for the North West.
“I hope it will help those who work as Christians in the NHS, and in hospices, to have an understanding of their caring environments and, in the most appropriate way, both bring God’s loving care through their actions, and also be able to listen to those in need and give a sensitive reply.”
