BURNLEY Labour Party has called David Cameron the ‘worst prime minister for living standards on record’.
The party claimed analysis of Office for Budget Responsibility forecasts by the House of Commons Library showed that working people in the north-west would be worse off by up to £6,660 in real terms by 2015 Coun Julie Cooper, recently selected as Labour’s candidate for Burnley in the next General Election, said: “Burnley is being let down by David Cameron and the Lib Dems that continue to prop up his out-of-touch Tory-led Government.
“Prices are outstripping wages, and it is working people in Burnley that are seeing their living standards fall.
“Labour would help middle and low-income families in Burnley right now, including a lower 10p starting rate of tax, action to tackle soaring energy bills and protecting tax credits for working families by reversing the tax cut for millionaires.”
