Blackburn Rovers manager Gary Bowyer and captain Scott Dann have urged men to ‘break the taboo’ surrounding prostate cancer.
The pair kicked off the season on Sunday by backing a new campaign from Prostate Cancer UK.
With the disease affecting one in eight men, and that number rising at an alarming rate, the charity aims to reach millions of fans, players and staff, by raising awareness about the causes and symptoms.
Club captain Dann said: “By talking to our mates about it and bringing the subject up with our dads, we can break the old taboo, face up to the risk and hopefully help save lives.”
