A GIANT has become part of a heritage trail for visitors.
As part of Blackburn’s new Heritage Open Days programme, Mercer's toy shop are displaying the portrait and biography of Fred Kempster, the Blackburn Giant.
Guests are invited to explore the restored Victorian toy shop on Darwen Street in Blackburn town centre where a vintage curiosities display will be held. Here visitors will find a lifesize portrait of Fred Kempster, a legendary showman, renowned for his extreme height who appeared in the Guinness Book of Records between 1967 and 1993.
Guests can discover what he ate, where he is buried and how his goods were sold at auction. The exhibtion begins from Thursday September 12 from 9am to 5pm until Saturday September 15.
