BLACKBURN company Gillbraiths is ‘over the moon’ after winning a Palletways Platinum Award.
The transport and storage company, based in Bolton Road, can trace its roots to the town back to 1920.
Palletways is a pallet distriution company that works with hundreds of independent transport companies all over the UK to provide effective distribution services.
The Palletways Platinum Awards were launched in 2007 to recognise the quality of commitment and co-operation among members of the Palletways network.
The assessment process is based on a number of categories, including performance and commitment to the member’s local area.
Platinum status represents the highest possible standards of customer service achievable by member companies.
Steve Gibson, managing director of Gilbraiths said: “This year, Palletways said they were going to raise the bar and were only going to recognise the very top 12 as platinum members, rather than the 33 who were awarded it last year.
“Because of that, we were really surprised when we found out we’d won. We were over the moon.”
Dad-of-three Steve, from Lower Darwen, was presented with an award at a summer ceremony but said that the award was not just for him, but all of Gilbraiths’ employees.
“It’s a team effort and we couldn’t have done it without each and every member of the team. I’d like to thank them for all their hard work," he said.
“We all feel that this is a great achievement for a local company like ours and we have fought off some stiff competition.”
“We pride ourselves on offering a first class service and it is fantastic to get some recognition for that."
