SEVEN awards were won by Accrington Academy students at a glittering awards ceremony in London.
More than 70 students travelled to the capital for the United Learning BIE (Best in Everyone) Awards.
Between them, the students racked up young hero of the year, both junior and senior physics awards, the senior award for history and the junior awards for ICT and drama.
The school also won the coveted team work gong, which was awarded to the 60-strong Vocal Adrenaline school choir.
Hardeep Sidhu, recipient of the senior award for physics, said: “This was an absolutely brilliant day. All the students were really buzzing about the trip down, and after that for us to take home seven awards was a fantastic achievement.
“I’m really pleased to have won the physics award, and I’m really proud to be part of an academy that’s done so well.”
Principal Andy O’Brien said: “To win seven awards is utterly brilliant. Our students are fantastic and couldn’t be more deserving, so it’s great to see their efforts recognised.”
