POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was stabbed in Wensley Fold in Blackburn yesterday morning.
Officers believe that a lot of people will have witnessed the attack and are asking for anyone with any information to come forward.
The incident happened Rawstorne Street at around 10.50am, after the victim, a 40-year-old Blackburn man, got into an argument with another man.
The victim was stabbed with a knife in the stomach and arm following the disagreement He was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital where last night he was in a stable condition receiving treatment.
A 50-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and was in police custody yesterday, where he was being questioned by detectives.
Det Insp Paul Langley said: “Our investigation is ongoing and we are currently looking into the circumstances of exactly what has happened.
“We believe that there were a lot of witnesses to this incident and I would urge these people to come forward to assist with our investigation.”
