THE search for information about a Second World War tank driver from Darwen has led to the discovery of his burial site.
Con McGrath appealed for information about his grandfather, Trooper John Meagher, who was killed in 1941.
The Lancashire Telegraph has discovered that Trooper Meagher was killed in Libya on December 4, 1941, and has a Commonwealth War Grave at Knighstbridge War Cemetery in Acroma, Libya.
Mr McGrath would still like more information about his grandfather from anyone who might have known him.
He does not even have a photograph of his relative. His wife and son were living at 61 Hannah Street, Darwen, at the time of his death.
Anyone who can help can call Darwen reporter Dan Clough on 01254 298212 or email daniel.clough@nqnw.co.uk.
