STUDENTS from Accrington Academy came away with seven prestigious prizes from the United Learning Best in Everyone awards in London.
Between them, the pupils racked up the earned title of young hero of the year, both junior and senior physics awards, the senior award for history and the junior awards for both ICT and drama.
The school also won the coveted team work gong, which was awarded to the 60-strong ‘Vocal Adrenaline’ school choir.
Hardeep Sidhu, recipient of the senior award for physics, said: “All the students were really buzzing about the trip down.
“For us to take home seven awards was a fantastic achievement.
“I’m really pleased to have won the physics award, and I’m really proud to be part of an academy that’s done so well.”
Principal Andy O’Brien said: “To win not just one but seven awards is utterly brilliant.
“Our students are fantastic and couldn’t be more deserving, so it’s great to see their efforts recognised in such a way.”
