A 52-YEAR-old man assaulted his 25-year-old daughter after storming into her room shouting and swearing.

Blackburn magistrates heard a second daughter jumped in to stop Nezakat Hussain attacking her sister and she was also struck about the head.

And the younger daughter eventually ran out of the house screaming for help and called the police.

Hussain, of Cumberland Street, Blackburn, was convicted after trial of assaulting Sophie Khan and Naureem Khan.

He was sentenced to 16 weeks in prison, suspended for 24 months, and ordered to pay £680 costs.

Catherine Allan, prosecuting, said the daughters said their dad was ‘always angry’.

She said: “On this occasion, he came into the eldest daughter’s bedroom shouting and swearing and hit her on the head, knocking her to the floor. When her sister jumped in to help, he started hitting her as well.

“He forced his children to give evidence against him at the trial.”

Jonathan Taylor, defending, said Hussain denied the offences but accepted the court’s decision.

He said: “He will engage with the probation service and that will reduce the risk of further incidents.”
