A TEENAGE girl was taken to hospital after a collision with a car.
The accident on Whalley Road, Clitheroe last night involved the 19-year-old pedestrian and a Citroen Xsara Picasso.
Police closed the road after the accident at 5pm and it was expected to remain shut until around 9pm.
Police said the pedestrian was taken to Royal Preston Hospital suffering from serious head injuries.
The accident happened on the A671, near Baraclough House. It led to severe traffic disruption as vehicles were diverted onto the A59.
