A COUNCIL has chosen a landscaping firm to supply future bedding plants.
Hyndburn Council has made new arrangements for the supply of plants and street horticultural features for 2013 and 2014 The council is to secure a second year’s supply of summer bedding and hanging baskets from Lancaster City Council Prior to the floral market town initiative Hyndburn Council staff planted and grew their own small number of hanging baskets.
However a decision was taken three years ago to try and source as many horticultural products as possible from within the County of Lancashire, who operate a bedding plant growing facility.
Lancaster Council have again been awarded the tender for supply of summer bedding and hanging baskets for Hyndburn, yielding a 10 per cent saving for the council.
