A SPECIAL Christmas crackdown on crime is under way in Darwen.
Operation Elves is running throughout the festive period, focusing on reducing juvenile nuisance, violence, car crime, burglary and criminal damage.
Community support officer Chris Williams said: "Operation Elves is well established as an effective way to keep crime down over the Christmas period and I hope the crime prevention messages will encourage the community to stay vigilant while out shopping."
