A MAN who admitted a charge of attempting to inflict grievous bodily harm had his case adjourned to the new year for sentencing.
John Street, 21, of Walmsley Close, Church, had previously denied more serious charges of attempted murder and wounding with intent upon the same person.
At a Preston Crown Court hearing, an additional charge was laid against him, of attempting to inflict grievous bodily harm, with intent to do grievous bodily harm.
He pleaded guilty to the offence committed upon Stephen Hitchen on April 1 this year.
The plea was accepted by the prosecution and the case adjourned for a pre-sentence report to be compiled by the probation service.
Mr Keith Harrison, defending, told the court: "He accepts there will be a custodial sentence."
