POLICE have released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to after a taxi driver was attacked by a passenger in Colne.
The attack happened when the passenger decided he did not want to continue with his journey and became aggressive towards the driver, a 50-year-old man from Nelson.
He demanded his money back before grabbing the driver’s face and punching him, smashing his glasses.
The man then got out of the taxi and headed off along Spring Lane.
It happened at around 11pm on Sunday, May 5 but police have only just released details.
The offender was white, stocky, around 30, and wearing a blue T-shirt and jeans.
Detective Sergeant Nick Hodgeson from Pennine Division CID said: “I’d appeal to people to take a close look at the CCTV images and if anybody recognises this man or has any information that could assist with our investigation I’d urge them to contact us.”
Call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
