A NEW website will be launched today for parents and grandparents who have used maternity services in East Lancashire.
The site – www.birthineastlancs.com – will be launched by medics and Blackburn Rovers veteran David Dunn, whose three young children were cared for by maternity staff at Burnley General.
An independent voluntary group, members work closely with East Lancashire Hospital NHS Trust’s family care division.
A group spokesman said: “We got together when Blackburn and Burnley maternity facilities were changing and we helped to give the opinions of local families on the developments. The website is not owned or managed by a maternity service, and the information found here is extra to the support you will get from your midwife, obstetrician, health visitor or GP.”
The launch is at the Lancashire Women and Newborn Centre at Burnley General at 5.30pm.
