POLICE who made a routine stop-check on a Mercedes being driven through Blackburn on Saturday discovered £50,000 in a secret compartment under the passenger seat.
And when officers searched the driver’s home in Manchester they found amphetamine with an estimated street value of £500,000.
Shaun McDonald, 36, of Colshaw Road, Manchester, was sent in custody to Preston Crown Court when he appeared before Blackburn magistrates charged with having in his possession bank notes, possession of amphetamine and cannabis and driving other than in accordance with a licence.
Catherine Allan, prosecuting, said police found 16 kg of amphetamine in a freezer at McDonald’s home.
