Two German exchange students have experienced working life in the UK by completing an internship with a Burnley housing association.
Jennifer Corssen and Nadine Steinruecken, from Oldenburg, northern Germany, have been supported by Calico and EMBRACE, a charity that provides support to young students, to complete their Project Management apprenticeship.
In order to complete their qualification, the pair had to undertake a work placement in a different European country.
Neither had been to England before, so everything was new for them, especially the company they worked for.
Jennifer said their first impressions of the firm were good: “Very nice and friendly people and a good working atmosphere.”
Nadine said: “We’ve taken part in a lot of interesting tasks. At the beginning of our internship, we visited some clients and got a great impression of what working at Calico is like.
“We think that Calico’s work is very important and helpful for people who are struggling with their life.”
